Clearly marked fabric settings are of great importance also as you don’t want to ruin your clothes by using the wrong one.
Before you go to buy an iron, be sure to test it. The iron should be easy to lift and maneuver. Check the size also. Some irons are too small for larger hands and some models are too heavy for smaller users to lift. Don’t just grab a box off of the shelf because you may find that you hate the model due to its sheer size.
Other features you may wish to consider include drip-free steaming and retractable cords. Only you can decide if these features are worth the extra price. If you do a great deal of Ironing, you may want to spend more. An item that will be used frequently needs to be exactly what you want or you may head out the door with wrinkled clothes just to avoid pulling the steam iron out!
